Don’t miss the PostGraduate Assembly (PGA) in Anesthesiology Annual Clinical Meeting! The meeting commences on Dec. 6, 2024, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City!

This year’s meeting spans four days and features the latest advancements in anesthesiology and an array of educational programs, including hands-on interactive training and networking opportunities. MLMIC CEO Michael Schoppmann, Esq., will present as part of the Scientific Program on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Join Mike Schoppmann and Patricia Fogarty-Mack, M.D., FASA, FACHE, Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medicine, as they present “Insights into the Legal Process and Malpractice Claims.”

After completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Implement work practices that mitigate key areas of risk in anesthesiology that often result in malpractice claims.
  • Develop strategies to reduce liability exposure and potential claims.

On Monday, Dec. 9, MLMIC’s Nancy May-Skinner, Esq., and Thomas Gray, Esq., Senior Vice President of Risk Management, will be participating in “The Cardiac Patient Undergoing Non-Cardiac Surgery: How to Manage and Who Should Manage” panel.

After completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Develop a safe perioperative management plan for patients with severe cardiac disease.
  • Design an optimal anesthesia care model for patients with advanced cardiac disease.
  • Analyze the legal implications of a consultant documenting that a cardiac anesthesiologist is required.
