Through this partnership, MLMIC and MedPro provide educational resources and expertise to St. John’s University students who are educating themselves on the insurance industry. The program focuses on critical topics such as risk management, underwriting, marketing, analytics and claim handling.

“Joining the FOI program has been one of the best decisions I’ve made,” said Rhona Castanheiro, St. John’s University student / program participant, who looks back at her experience in the program with great fondness. “It opened my eyes to the various opportunities within the insurance industry, especially in fields like cybersecurity, which isn’t something you’d initially think of when you see insurance. Throughout my internship with MLMIC, I had the chance to connect with professionals who were always willing to answer my questions and encouraged me to explore freely, and I’m truly grateful to have been part of this program as a student, ambassador and intern.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the program, and it brought to light many intriguing careers in insurance. The panelists provided a wealth of useful information, and the employee-led sessions were incredibly insightful. The opportunity to analyze my personality strengths and weaknesses using DISC assessments has provided me with important information I can use to develop myself further,” said Madison King, graduate of St. John’s University and University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, who made valuable connections while participating in the program. “The connections I was able to make through the program opened up many opportunities for me, and I am extremely grateful to have been a part of the program.”
