MLMIC Launches New Dental Risk Management Course
MLMIC is proud to announce the launch of our new Dental Risk Management Program: Managing Patient Expectations and Creating a Safe Environment of Care. Building upon MLMIC’s years of risk management and educational experience and designed specifically for dental professionals, this comprehensive program offers invaluable insights and strategies to mitigate risks and protect your practice.
Our Dental Risk Management Program is now available and is being offered to dentists across New York State in conjunction with the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA) and component dental districts.
The live program will debut on September 8 at 8:00 a.m. at the Queens County Dental Society World’s Fair of Dentistry, which will be held at the Terrace on the Park in Flushing, New York.
New York State dentists who complete this course will be entitled to a 10% discount on their liability premiums for a three-year period from MLMIC Insurance Company. If you have not completed an approved Risk Management Program within the past three (3) years, you must take this course to continue to receive your discount. At the end of this course, you will receive a certificate of completion to submit to your malpractice carrier. Registrants who complete this course will be entitled to three (3) continuing education credits. Dentists will automatically receive three (3) lecture credits with the NYSDA Continuing Education Registry.
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify the common allegations and claims that are seen in dental malpractice.
- Understand how New York’s statutes of limitations and tolls impact the potential for a malpractice claim.
- Identify the various steps of the legal process and the dentist’s role in each step.
